Vibe for Philo '06  Part 2

  • In Dublin 1st Jan.2006 - At the Airport

On 31st December 2005, I departed from Narita then had a new year day in London and on the same day's evening arrived at Dublin.
A person was waiting at Dublin Airport for the pick up. His name is Hiroshi Endo.
He is the key person of my trip and is the great helper.
I have regard for his situation that living in Dublin. Of course he is a big fan of Thin Lizzy.
The first time I met him is 3 years ago when he came to Japan with Liam Quigley and Paul Staunton

Since then every time Hiroshi comes back home we've had night out together in Japanese pub in Tokyo. But this was the first time meeting up in Dublin.
On the way to the hotel we spoke about the arrangement for the next day.
Firstly to borrow a guitar from Paul Staunton, secondly to bring Hiroshi to Mrs.Lynott's house and lastly to have a practice session with Jimmy.
The acoustic guitar could be borrowed from Paul, (indeed, Hiroshi has asked Paul for me beforehand.) According to those guys' efforts, things have been managed so smoothly.

I've met Paul before in Japan when he came with Liam. Liam was managing musical and lighting instruments rental shop (called Sound & Lighting Store) in Dublin city centre with his business partner Joe Staunton, who is Paul's father.
The shop has been closed and Liam is spending (a very early) retirement life.
Pat, who is Liam's elder brother, used to be the bassist of Orphanage to which Philip belonged before Thin Lizzy. And Liam had been the dedicated camera staff from time of Orphanage until the early Thin Lizzy days.

By the way, Jimmy's plan was coming to Dublin via Birmingham.
In the earliest case he would arrive in Dublin on 1st January, however, had not got the final confirmation from him at the time when I departed from Japan.
When checking in the hotel, the receptionist gave me a memo and said 'Here's the message from your friend'. It was described that 'My room number is 304, I am waiting. /Jimmy'. The receptionist added that 'It is your next door'.
